Will the ST MAX fit your room?
Sheet A-1 · Room fitStart from a room like yours
SkyTrak's numbers
- The ST MAX sits beside the ball, not behind you, so it fits garages, basements and spare rooms.
- Put the ball on the red laser dot. The hitting zone is about 4 x 4 in. One reviewer places the unit about 18 in beside the ball.
- SkyTrak says a golfer needs at least a 9 ft ceiling and 10 ft of width to swing a driver.
- SkyTrak's smallest studio needs a room at least 15 ft deep. SkyTrak calls 17 ft deep and 12 ft wide comfortable.
- SkyTrak gives no distance from the ball to the net or screen.

Software that works with the ST MAX
Sheet D-2 · SoftwareThe simulator runs on your phone, tablet, PC or TV, not on the ST MAX. Third-party simulators run without a SkyTrak membership, but they have their own cost.
| Software | Works with the ST MAX | Runs on | Cost | Good to know |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| SKYTRAK app, Basic plan | Yes | Windows PC, Mac (M1 or newer), iPad (M1 or newer), Android | Free | Driving range, Sim Club and PinSeeker contests. Listed by a store and a reviewer; SkyTrak's own plan page shows no free tier. |
| SKYTRAK Essential membership | Yes | Windows PC, Mac (M1 or newer), iPad (M1 or newer), Android | $99.99 a year | Practice tools and libraries, no course play. A 14-day trial comes in the box. |
| SKYTRAK Core: Foresight membership | Yes | Windows PC, Mac (M1 or newer), iPad (M1 or newer), Android | $299.99 a year | Adds course play with 51 Foresight courses, including Pebble Beach. Needs app version 5.0 or later. |
| SKYTRAK Core: Trackman membership | Yes | Windows PC, Mac (M1 or newer), iPad (M1 or newer), Android | $349.99 a year | Adds course play with 53 Trackman courses and the Pebble Beach Resort pack. |
| SKYTRAK Elite membership | Yes | Windows PC, Mac (M1 or newer), iPad (M1 or newer), Android | $599.99 a year | Both course packs, 100+ courses, two new courses a month. |
| GSPro | No | Windows PC (10 or 11) only | $250 a year | GSPro does not list SkyTrak as supported. A PlayBetter spec table says it works, which conflicts with GSPro. |
| The Golf Club 2019 | No | Windows PC | No longer sold new for SkyTrak | A store blog says SkyTrak ended official third-party support for new buyers. Old lifetime owners keep access. |

What testers found
- Breaking Eighty, ST MAX review, updated Dec 15 2025
Same tracking, size and data as the SkyTrak+. It adds Speed Training, two USB-C ports and a faster processor. It does not measure angle of attack.
- Golfers Authority, ST MAX review, Jun 9 2026
Not more accurate than the SkyTrak+. Irons and wedges read close to a fitting-grade unit, driver less so. Outdoors it works only off a mat.
